Community Development Fellows Spring 2023 Host Site Application

The Community Development Fellowship Program is a capacity-building program that gives dynamic, motivated University of Baltimore students interested in effecting positive change in urban areas the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and gain practical experiences at a host organization.

This competitive program places junior- and senior-level undergraduate and graduate students into paid fellowships with community organizations also known as “host sites” that directly support Baltimore neighborhoods. This grant-funded fellowship program aims to improve the city while cultivating the next generation of community development leaders.

During the Spring 2023 semester, fellows will assist with community development projects and other daily tasks that are consistent with the goals and abilities of the student. Specific responsibilities will depend on the needs of the partnering community organizations. These responsibilities can include the following:
  • special events coordination;
  • social media;
  • administrative work;
  • research;
  • community engagement;
  • grant writing; and
  • other types of work depending on the needs of the host organization.
The Community Development Fellows program is intended to supplement students' coursework with real-world experiences and achieve a greater understanding of the needs of the city of Baltimore.

Fellows will be assigned to a host site for a 15-week period for 10-20 hours per week.

If you are interested in becoming a Community Development Fellowship Host Site for the Spring 2023 cohort, please fill out this application below. Fellows will be placed with the host sites in February and will serve as fellows until mid-end May.
